Social Function : Help us to do a task or make someting. They can be a set of instruction or directions

GENERIC STRUCTURES

1) Goal
- The final purpose of doing the instructions

2) Material

- Ingredients, utensils, equipments to do the instructions

3) Step

- A set of instructions to achieve the final purpose

LANGUAGE FEATURES :
 

- The use of imperatives and actions verbs (turn, put, open, mix, etc)
- The use of connectives (first, then, finally, etc)
- The use of adverbial phrases (for 5 minutes, 2 cm, etc)
